Elijah Munn

Elijah Munn is a software and design engineer in San Francisco with 8+ years of software development experience. He builds web applications, research tools, AI integrations, data pipelines and geospatial interfaces.

What I bring

Software & product engineering

React, Next.js, TypeScript and React Native applications, with ownership from user conversations and interface design through implementation, deployment and testing feedback loops.

AI tools & workflow automation

Integrating AI into colleagues’ workflows and building custom internal tools to reduce repetitive work. Experience connecting OpenAI and Anthropic APIs to practical applications.

Research software & public-interest technology

Web and mobile research applications at Harvard Kennedy School’s Public Interest Tech Lab, including the React frontend for fbarchive and React Native interfaces for JoinU.

Data engineering & visualization

Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, Supabase and data integration, connecting complex datasets to interfaces that help people explore and understand them.

Geospatial, housing & urban technology

City-scale digital twins, interactive maps and housing, cadastral, economic and mobility data. Tools include deck.gl, Mapbox, H3 and PostGIS. A background in architecture and city technology informs this work.

Design engineering, brand & motion

Interface design, visual identity, branded assets and creative direction across projects including City Digital Twin, Murmura and LAA. Experience with Figma, Blender and Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects.

User-facing technical delivery

Meeting with users, fielding concerns, creating plans and iterating with stakeholders. Interested in product, research and solutions engineering roles that combine hands-on development with this collaboration.

Work behind the experience

City Digital Twin

Sole full-stack engineer at Aretian on a platform connecting housing, cadastral, economic and mobility datasets to interactive maps and charts. Work includes data pipelines, interfaces and visual identity.

Harvard Public Interest Tech Lab

Frontend and DevOps work on research tools, including fbarchive and JoinU. Worked across design, application development, infrastructure and deployment.

Murmura

Independent urban technology work combining spatial data, interactive interfaces and AI integration for exploring planning questions.

Cookflow

An independent product exploring visual recipe interfaces and practical cooking tools, with design and development owned together.
